Can You Train a Dog Online? NO!

Being a franchisor with several dozen locations, having trained over 6,000 people and dogs one thing that I hear on a somewhat consistent basis is “I tried watching dog training videos online, but it didn’t work…”

I know it didn't work. It’s the same reason I can watch Apollo 13 and still never fix a space shuttle. Or the same reason I can watch Austin Stevens handle a gaboon viper, but if I were to try I would end up dead or in the hospital. That reason is simple…Seeing is not like doing.

When it comes to handling ANY animal the best trainers are those who have done lots of “hands on” training but it’s even more important when you are training dogs. Dogs are pack animals that rely on your body language and energy to make decisions. Much of it is instinct as well.

It is impossible to learn how to train a dog through video. How can I teach someone to read a dog’s body language through a video? How can I teach someone to walk a dog without handing them a leash and walking with them? How can I teach someone to go through doors and navigate stairs properly if I am not there with them determining the best way to do it as a trainer?

It’s ALWAYS situational and the people you are watching in that video have an entirely different situation. The dog and human in the video are not you or your dog.

Online training academy’s, universities, schools and whatever else they call them DO NOT WORK when it comes to training dogs. Dog training is a hands-on job. There is a reason these same places that sell such videos have things called “continued education” and that is because they didn’t get it right the first time! Save your money and call a real dog trainer who will get you real results.

Your Always Faithful Dog Trainer will get it right the first time and it will always be with hands-on training!
